The Documentation Centre on Aquaculture (CDA) was created in 1984 to satisfy the needs of the sector. The CDA is part of the Instituto de Estudios Documentales sobre Ciencia y Tecnología (IEDCYT), and has full access to that Centre´s resources in addition to its own ones:

• A specialized collection of over 200 titles of journals and over 1500 monographs, covering not just the Aquaculture, but many other fields as: Oceanography, Ecology, Fisheries, Biology of Aquatic Species, Pathology, and Aquatic Sciences in General
• Full access to the Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts (ASFA) database on CD-ROM.
