CSIC Databases

CSIC Databases

The ICYT, ISOC and IME bibliographic databases covers the Spanish scientific production published in Spain from the 70s up to date. They mostly include articles from scientific journals, but also a selection of congress and conference proceedings, serials, compilations, reprots and monographies.

New on-line document supply service: from the display screen of a search, you can send a recuest to the IEDCYT´s Document Supply Service tp get a printed or electronic copy of the document. This service has it's own invoicing service and uses the prices of the Rebiun Network.

There are two ways to access the databases:

Free access

Copyright information: The CSIC keeps the copyright of the databases, directories and thesauri produced by the IEDCYT-CSIC and distributed through these web pages. The end user is not allowed to reproduce, distribute or make any commercial use of parts or the whole of the information obtained from these pages.

Subscription Access

Subscription access allows the user to access to the whole records of the IEDCYT databases, meanwhile the free access only provides the information related to the following fields: title, author, journal´s title, ISSN and publication year. From the year 2003 on, the full text of the documents is also included on the records.

Price lists

  • Unique payment at the signing of the contract: 70,00 euros
  • Annual flat tariff:
    • Single license: 200,00 euros
    • Up to 5 licenses: 330,00 euros
    • Up to 10 licenses: 660,00 euros

Special deals for Universities and Public Research Centres

  • Annual flat tariff: 1.990,00 euros
  • Limited access from the University/Public Research Centre's domains

Registering

You can send your register request by email, surface mail or fax. Upon reception you will be sent the contract that must be returned properly completed and signed.

To properly complete the contract, you must include the following information:

  • Name of the person that signs the contract and position that occupies in the company
  • Full postal address, telephone number, fax and email of the company or organization.
  • CIF of the company or organization, or NIF of the person that signs the contract.
  • IP of the computer (single user) or computers (multi-user)
  • You can choose two modes for accessing the databases:
      1. By the IP of the computer (single user) or computers (multi-user) (default mode).
      2. With a username and password (must be specified).

According to the Article 70.One.4.B.d of the law 37/1992, from December 28th about Value Added Tax, any operation lent via electronics is subject to the tax type of 16%.

Free Access

You can access to the following resources totally free:

  • Database of Summaries: it offers bibliographic information from the ICYT (Science and Technology), ISOC (Social Sciences and Humannities) and IME (Biomedicine)
  • Databes ISOC-Biblioteconomy and Information Sciences: full access to the complete records from this database.
  • Directories of Spanish Journals: full description of the journals included in the databases.

Note: If you need a more complete bibliographic information than the one provided in the Summaries database, you should use the subscription access which offers a more powerfull search engine, more searcheable fields, descriptors, abstract, and many other options.

Access to the free databases

CSIC Databases on DVD

Updated four times a year.

Along with the ICYT, ISOC and IME, the DVD includes the following databases:

  • CIRBIC: multidisplinar database including the collections of books and periodicals from the libraries of all the CSIC centres. Produced by the Library Coordination Unit of the CSIC.
  • DATRI: Produced by the CICYT, includes information about Spanish research centre: research groups, research lines, projects, patents and research results.
